Antwerp Gipsy-Ska Orkestra is a Belgian music group from Antwerp. The permanent line-up of the group consists of Gregor Engelen, Roel Poriau, Nathan Daems, Mukti Gabriels, Suki, and Filip Vandebril.
The group was founded in 2004 and played its debut concert in the Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 2007 the band released the first CD with Tuttilegal ; in 2011, I Lumia Mo Kher (Romani for De wereld is mijn huis) followed the second full-length album. In 2015 Kilo Gipsyska followed.
The band makes music in English, French, Antwerp and the Romanes.
The group performed at Waterpop 2007, Sziget festival 2009, Lowlands 2011, and Zwarte Cross in 2014.
The band members are / were active in various other bands. Gregor Engelen and Mukti were active in the hardcore punk band Moss. Mukti was also active in Belgian Asociality and Tachyon , a band that later joined Gregor Engelen and Kike. After this band split in 2003, the three formed Antwerp Gypsy-Ska Orchestra with Suhamet Latifi. Vincent Robin and Enrique Noviello played together with Gregor Engelen in the Ambrassband, a fanfare that originated from the Antifare. Kike and Gregor Engelen are also members of Donkey Diesel. In addition, Engelen is active with The Calypso Gigolos. Filip Vandebril was active in Le Trio Perdu, the Klezmer collective On Fidldikn Manzer, Laïs and The Valerie Solanas, among others. Finally, Roel Poriau is part of Think of One and Harvey Quinnt.
