10 Minutes Down was a genre-bending rock band born to the inland northwest city of Spokane, Washington in the wake of the late 90's ska revival. While the first incarnations of the band were brought to life on the campus of Gonzaga University, the band made its most noteworthy contributions after an infusion of talent from further afield.
After a number of years that featured a rotating cast of members and a sound that was not yet their own, the release of their second full length album “The Manhattan Project,” solidified the band’s voice and their presence. Their membership solidified and their reputation grew, particularly their live performances.
10 Minutes Down's shows were legendary. The members of the band spent more time in the air than on the stage, and to see them at the frantic, ska-infused rock best redefined what you thought about live music.
In subsequent years, and after the release of the follow-up EP “Buckle Up,” they brought their live circus on tour all over the country, including two stints on the Van’s Warped Tour. From Oakland to Omaha, Anaheim to Arlington – for 5 people or 5,000 – 10 Minutes Down brought the same energy to every single performance.
In 2006, the band fractured as the members started families and resettled around the country. Before disbanding for good – they coalesced to create one final full-length album, “Of Cabbages And Kings”. It was an intentional departure from their refined sound – one that represented the diverse tastes of the individual members of the band.
The final show in September of that year showcased, with a few notable exceptions, virtually every prior member of the band playing through their vast catalog of the ridiculous and the sublime. It proved to be a fitting send-off.

10MD alum have moved on to other projects in Seattle and Portland and can still be seen playing with local Spokane acts such as Milonga and Civilized Animal. They brought their stage spectacle back to life for one more go round (you know, for the kids) at the 2011 Pig Out in the Park - in celebration of the 5 year anniversary of their split.
