Always very active in its local music scene and a great diffuser of ska-punk in Brazil, Abraskadabra has already played on 4 different continents. Following their first US Tour in 2014, the band returned to North America in 2018 on a headlining tour to promote their album “Welcome”, playing in over 12 US states. In that same year, the album was nominated the Second Best Ska-Punk Album of 2018 by the specialized page Ska Punk Daily. After one year of promoting the album tirelessly throughout Brazil, the band was then invited to cross the globe, taking the Welcome Tour to Japan in 2019. Stopping halfway through, they spent 3 weeks playing in the UK, appearing in legendary festivals such as the Rebellion Fest and Boomtown Fair.
For 2022, Abraskadabra aims to release its third full-length album and is already scheduled to play Punk Rock Holiday (SLO), Rebellion Fest (UK), and Boomtown Fair (UK).
In recent years, Abraskadabra supported many big acts such as Bad Religion, Rise Against, Less Than Jake, Reel Big Fish, Mad Caddies, Goldfinger, Flogging Molly, Fishbone, Streetlight Manifesto, Pauline Black (The Selecter), The Toasters, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Satanic Surfers and more.
Abraskadabra was also featured in the official soundtrack of “A Fat Wreck”, a 2016 documentary about the legendary record label Fat Wreck Chords, after their ska-punk version of the song “Not Your Savior” (originally by No Use For a Name) won a major contest among bands from all over the world.
The band has released 2 full-length albums, 1 EP, and a few singles, demos, and B-sides throughout its career. The band is currently working on its third full-length album, to be released in September 2021.
Abraskadabra’s intensity and high quality are confirmed by its 16-year-old history and the unique attitude and passion the band delivers through its music, which makes it one of the most solid and interesting bands in the ska-punk scene nowadays.
